Shishigashira Japanese Maple Bonsai Tree (acer Palmatum ‘shishiga

The Shishigashira is unlike any other Japanese Maple. It is composed of an arrangement of compacted semi-glossy, heavily curled, dark green leaves. The deep green color will last until Fall and when other Maple trees begin to drop their leaves, the Shishigashira leaves will burst into glamorous colors. At this time the foliage becomes red and purple with a golden pattern. These colors give this specimen the name Shishigashira which means “Lion’s Mane”.

• Potted in a 17″ brown oval mica container. Suitable humidity/drip tray
• May be shipped with mature, turning and transitioning foliage in late summer (August), this is a normal, annual process as the tree prepares for dormancy. May be shipped with no foliage during autumn and winter. Tree will emerge from dormancy and re-grow foliage in early Spring.
