Offer includes full size plant 18″ 4 stems fully leafed out and mature, NOT a starter plant. You will need a 10-12″ pot size. When it blooms the flowers are lightly fragrant and the leaves themselves have a tangy fresh aroma. These plants are often seen growing in flat-out full sun but they prefer a bit of afternoon shade to keep the leaves from browning. The name shell ginger refers to the flowers that appear (infrequently) in warm weather, looking like strands of tiny white seashells. The Shell Ginger enjoys growing in the full sun but needs part shade during the afternoon hours of harsh summers. Great for a south-facing window when growing indoors where it receives part sun or filtered sun and is protected from the harsh rays of the midday sunshine. Gar-Zen Botanical Designs is located in South Florida and we are a Black and Minority women owned business. We use no pesticides or chemicals on our plants.
